Rasheeda L. Johnson has been an artist for as long as she can remember having received her first art scholarship at age 8 to Saturday art classes at the Carnegie Museum of Art in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. She attended these classes until moving to New Jersey at age 13 when visual art took a backseat to sports and academics landing her academic scholarship at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. After receiving her degree in Advertising Design from F.I.T., Johnson went on to work in various creative fields with over 10 years as a wardrobe for film professional. Rasheeda also spent time working as a Visual Display Artist doing window and in-store displays for various retail companies. This is her current role for a popular toy company. Throughout her career, Johnson never neglected her personal work as a visual artist and has been featured in several group art exhibitions in Pittsburgh, PA, Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD, Brooklyn, NY and New York, NY. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY which is where she finds much of the inspiration for her work.
